AMST 180 / American Studies Seminar / Anthes / SP25

Your Assignment and this guide

Welcome to the course guide for AMST 180 American Studies Seminar!

This is the place to start to find databases to use to explore magazines and newspapers for your assignment.  There are also additional databases for finding secondary sources, should you want (or need) to explore.

And there is a link to different subject guides.  Keep in mind that American Studies is very much interdisciplanry.

Please also remember that I and other librarians are here to help you. Don't hesitate to contact me or make an appointment.

Library Search (below) is a good place to find both primary and secondary materials.  Using the advanced search function allows you to do more complex searching to help you hone in on resources related to your topic.  Academic Search Premier is also a good place to begin for almost any subject, especially if you need more current sources.

Historic and Presenday Newspapers (databases)

Below are very few of our primary source databases relevant to American Studies, just to give you a taste of what we offer.  Please see the research guides listed on the previous page for a much fuller offering, including the US History Guide
