2024 - Night Owls (Fall Finals Week Programming)

Self Care Tips

On this page, you will find online resources available to you from The Claremont Colleges and The Claremont Colleges Library, as well as resources available on the open web, to help you de-stress during finals week. It's natural to feel stress during finals week and we are here to connect you to resources to mediate your stress levels. Take a brain break using these resources!

Consider the following self-care tips from MCAPS to manage stress:

  • Talk about it – discussing your feelings with trusted others can help you feel less alone.
  • Get plenty of sleep, as well as regular “down-time” to rest and recuperate. This means taking study breaks and avoiding all-nighters.
  • Strive to eat in a balanced and healthy way.
  • Practice deep breathing or other forms of relaxation.
  • Avoid excessive use of alcohol or drugs to self-soothe or self-medicate.

Animal Live Cams

Sometimes what you want to watch are sea otters. Or a peaceful kelp forest. Or a platypus! Below are links to live cams of animals; use them to take a breath and breathe. (The jellies at the Monterey Bay Aquarium are particularly good for this.)

Zoom Backgrounds

Use these Zoom backgrounds to study on campus virtually! Zoom offers a virtual background feature that allows you to display an image or video as your background during Zoom meetings.
