Open Access publishing in Lancet and Cell Press titles is not included.

Type of publication licenses available: Closed (for hybrid journals only), Open CC-BY (least restrictive), Open CC-BY-NC, and Open CC-BY-NC-ND (most restrictive).

Eligibility:

  • The corresponding author needs to be affiliated with one of The Claremont Colleges or TCCS - including faculty, researchers, adjunct faculty, lecturers, librarians, staff, graduate, or undergraduate students).
  • The e-mail address used by the corresponding author must be associated with the institution’s organizational domain.
  • For the paper: Full-length article, Short communication, Short survey, Review article, Data, Case report, Micro articles, Original software publication, Video article, Protocols, Replication studies, Practice guidelines

Open Access publishing is included at no charge in all hybrid and fully OA journals.

While the number of OA articles that can be published in hybrid journals is unlimited, there is limited funding for publishing in fully OA journals. The limit aligns with past publishing patterns across SCELC institutions and will not be exceeded unless there is an unexpected increase in fully open access journal publishing.

Authors submitting to a fully open access Elsevier journal should be prepared to pay the APC at acceptance in the unlikely event that the number of fully OA journal articles published exceeds the limit in any given calendar year.
