CMC HIST 126 / History of Medicine in the U.S. / FA25

Welcome

Welcome to the HIST 126 Course Guide!

This guide will help you locate, evaluate, and use sources for your group project and final project. Using  the navigation menu (on the left or at the top, depending on your device) to explore key resources, search strategies and tips, and research tools.

For your assignment, you will need to identify some preparatory reading (no more than 25 pages total) or podcasts/videos (no more than an hour). Your lesson will include a short lecture and an interactive activity that may be based on a mix of secondary and primary sources.

Below, you'll also find links to other helpful Library research guides that give you additional context or deeper support in specific disciplines.

If you need help at any point, you're welcome to contact me or any librarian. You can email us or schedule an appointment. We're happy to work with you.

Your Assignment

Your assignment requires you to:

  1. Identify a primary source in Special Collections.
  2. Find a journal article or book that helps you analyze the source you found.

Each section of this guide will help you along the way.
