Evaluating Activity with Zines


For the Art class, Representing Blackness: The Artist Book. This was the first time many students have looked at zines. Professor wanted me to touch on how students could donate the works done in class to the collection. All of the activities and work tool place in the slides.

Session Goals:
By the end of the session, students will be able to…

  • Evaluate zines for themes of cultural and social impact in order to recognize and reflect on how different types of sources and authority can be valuable.
  • Acknowledge themselves as creators with ownership over their work, in order to determine the impacts of sharing their zines and make a decision about donating them to the CCL collection
