André G. Wenzel is the Director of Research, Teaching & User Services at The Claremont Colleges Library. They are responsible for the main services desk at the Honnold-Mudd Library, and for the provision of instruction and research support for The Claremont Colleges community.
They came to Claremont after working as North America Representative for
Amalivre, Bibliographer for Literatures of Europe & the Americas (interim Linguistics, interim Music) at the
University of Chicago, Head of Reference Services at
Columbia University, Reference Coordinator for the Humanities Library at
MIT and Modern Foreign Language & Linguistics Librarian at
Boston University.
André serves as chair of the
European Subject Section of the American College & Research Libraries section of the American Library Association. They have twice served as chair of
CIFNAL, the Collaborative Initiative for French Language Collections, of the Center for Research Libraries. Their research has focused on library history and the preservation of humanities data. André's advanced degrees were earned from the
University of Illinois – Urbana-Champaign.
