Senior Seminar for LAMS and Classical Studies

Getting Started -- Ancient Greece and Rome / Ancient World

Hello and welcome to the Research Guide for the Senior Seminar for LAMS and Classical Studies!  Your librarians -- Adam (specialist in Classical Studies, History and Philosophy) and Kendra (Art and Art History)-- have put this guide together to direct you to  many of the basic databases you might use of your thesis research. We've also included information on writing and citing (including Zotero), posting your senior thesis, and a section on search strategies. Please keep in mind that this guide is not as exhaustive as the research guides in Classics, Ancient History, Medieval History or Art and Art History, which is why we've included links to those guides below. We've also included other, related guides as as help to those whose topics may be interdisciplinary. Most importantly, never hesitate to contact us!  We are here to help you.

If you are new to conducting research:
Consider reviewing the Starting Your Research tutorial to learn the phases and processes of doing research

Below are some of the main databases to get started. Use the tabs on the left to explore additional databases and resources. Academic Search Premier one of the best places for any subject
