Welcome: Your Research and Assignment

Welcome to the Research Guide for History of the Sahara! For your final paper, you will need to find secondary, scholarly sources on your topic. You may also want to incorporate primary sources.

Below is a section with the main databases to do this, including Historical Abstracts, the main database for scholarship in Non-U.S. history, ATLA: Religion database and Index Islamicus, two good places to go for themes relating to religion or religious studies, and Library Search, which is also be good for additional scholarship, particularly for books.

To help you find Primary Sources, there are some primary sources databases and on finding primary sources in Library Search, as well as a section on Special Collections.

Also included are sections on Citation (with links to Zotero) and the sorts of Search Strategies.
