The Media Viewing Room

Media Viewing Room

The library has a room available for small groups to watch videos together.  The Media Viewing Room is located on the third floor of the Honnold side of the library in room 301.  The room is equiped with a VCR and a non-region specific DVD player.


The Media Viewing Room can be checked out for a period of four hours.  Just come to the Honnold/Mudd Library's Services Desk and ask for the key.

Using the DVD Player

1.      Before watching a DVD player in the media room, you will need to turn on both the Television and the DVD player.  You can do this by pressing to power button on the appropriate remote, as seen below.

2.      The DVD Player is hooked up to the TV’s HDMI input, so you will need to set the television to receive signals form that input.  Simple Push the HDMI button on the TV Remote to switch to this input. 

 


3.      The Television should now display HDMI in the upper-right corner.

 


4.      To insert the DVD into the player, press the open/close key on the DVD Player’s remote and insert the disc on the drawer the comes out.

                

 

5.      Once the disc is loaded in the drawer, press the open/close key again.  The drawer will close and the DVD Player will start to read the disc.  Once the DVD’s menu comes up, press play on the DVD Players remote, and you should be all set.


 

Using the VCR

1.      Before watching a VCR in the media room, you will need to turn on both the Television and the VCR.  You can do this by pressing to power button on the appropriate remote, as seen below.

2.      The VCR is hooked up to the TV’s AVinput, so you will need to set the television to receive signals form that input.  Simple Push the AV button on the TV Remote to switch to this input.


3.      The Television should now display AV in the upper-right corner.


4.      To view the videocassette, simply insert it into the player.  The VCR will load the tape and begin to play it.  You should be all set to watch your video.
