Getting Started with LibGuides (Library Staff Only): Course Guides

A guide for library staff when creating new libguides

3 Important Steps to take BEFORE Publishing Your Course Guide

1. Name your guide using the following format:

2digit college abbrevation  (PO, CM, SC, PZ, HM, CG, KG, etc.) course number (this includes dept abbreviation+#) - course title - prof name - semester/year

so, for example:
PO ID1 - The Politics of Classic Art - Prof Emerick - FA2010 (please do NOT use frosh seminar section #s)
or
SC Core 3 - Representations of Woman: The Virgin-Whore Dichotomy - Prof. Alcala - FA 2010

2. Associate it with, at minimum, the subject : "Course Guides"

3a. Assign it the appropriate "courseguides-XXX" tag. (this ensures it shows up on the subject and/or frosh portal pages)

First year seminar course tags are as follows:

courseguides-fhs
courseguides-fys
courseguides-hsa
courseguides-id1
courseguides-wr50
