Your entry in the Name Our Discovery Beta could win you an iPOD touch or a free 100 cups of coffee.  The Grand Prize Package includes iPOD touch and one year of personalized research and reference assistance.  All unique submissions will be entered into a drawing for a 100 cups of  coffee from the library café.

The Libraries' beta search engine is a next generation discovery tool that has been under development over the past year.  Its goal is to provide a simple, user-friendly tool that includes all of the Libraries' content: books, newspaper articles, journal articles, manuscripts, digital collections, and more. It's easy to get started: just connect to Discovery.

Help us name it and you get an iPOD touch or a daily dose of caffeine.

Library's Beta Naming Contest Rules

1)     Anyone from the student body, staff, faculty, or alumni of the Claremont Colleges is eligible to enter the contest.  Library staff may enter, but cannot collect any prizes should their entry win.

2)     Submit an original entry by email.

3)     The subject line should start with "Discoverysearchbox: ."

4)     A paragraph or link to a link to short video explaining the significance or meaning of the suggested name may be included.

5)     All unique submissions will be entered into a drawing for coffee.

 6)     All entries must be received by the deadline, Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 5:00 p.m.

 7)     The winning name becomes the property of the Claremont University Consortium. Entering the contest embodies consent to the surrender of all future proprietary interests in the names and materials submitted and permission for the Claremont University Consortium usage without any further restrictions, in perpetuity.

8)     Entries will be judged by a panel, including Library Director John McDonald.  The decision of the judges is final.  In the event of duplicate names, the earliest entry for that name will be the winner. The winning name will be announced on our blog in early October or when café opens.

Submit your entry, along with your name and contact information, by email to discovery@Sakai.Claremont.Edu.
