Many tests must be purchased, and some tests are only sold to licensed clinical practitioners.
Unless you have a California state license as a Clinical Psychologist, or have a certificate in assessment, you won't be able to buy or use these tests:
Psychological Research on The Net (American Psychological Society)
This site links to known experiments on the internet that are psychologically related.
They are organized by general topic area and the sites contain the questionnaires and surveys.
NEW APA DATABASE PsycTESTS!
Descriptive summaries, full text, and relevant citations on the development and assessment of psychological tests and measures that can be used in research and teaching.
If you can't find it there, then try these sources:
1. The test may be here at Honnold Library.
Search this test index. All books are at Circulation on 2-hour reserve.
3. Still can't find it? The test may not be a psychology test. Try searching in education, nursing, or other appropriate subjects.
To find articles that use a test as part of the research, enter your search term (Stress) or test title (Perceived Stress Scale) in the PsycINFO search box, then type TM in the right hand "Select a field" box. The database will provide TM Tests & Measures. You will retrieve research that used a test. If you searched by subject, read the abstract to find the name of the test, then search again to find more studies that used the test. Use the 1-2-3 steps above to get the actual test.
Some Ph.D. candidates reproduce tests, measures, or questionnaires in their dissertations.
Go to the database ProQuest Dissertations and Theses Full text and search the title of the test in quotes, like this: "UCLA Loneliness Scale".
Then open each full text dissertation and see if the Ph.D. candidate included the actual test. They are often included as an appendix, so check the table of contents first! Sometimes they are only referred to, and not reproduced.
A copyright protected instrument will usually be obscured by a blank page indicating copyright material, and you will not be able to see or use it..
If you will be using the measure in a published article, or in your own dissertation, you will need to go to the original source, and not use the dissertation as your source.
If you need the test for a class paper or project, always check with your faculty member before using a dissertation as a source.
All-in-one index to all the psychology tests inside books on Honnold Reserve, which you can photocopy and use for your own work..
