Common Issues Encountered with the Microsoft OS

This section of the guide is intended to help you resolve some of the most common problems encountered with the computers in the Search Center of the Honnold/Mudd Library.

Finding Help in the Microsoft OS

If the problem you encountered is not addressed in any of the following pages, you can use Microsoft's built in Help and Support option to resolve the situation.

1. To access Microsoft's help menu, first click on the Start button on the left-hand side of the taskbar.  A pop-up menu appears, select Help and Support.

2. Once selected, the Help and Support Center window appears.  You can browse through support articles by clicking on Index.

3. Alternately, you can search for support with a particular problem by entering associated keyboards in the text-entry field and clicking on the green arrow.

4. The computer will then do a search and print a list of related support topics on the left-hand side of the window. Select the approriate topic by clicking on it.
