A guide for library staff when creating new libguides

staff profile pages for staff who will NOT be making public libguides

1. the name of your staff profile should be your first and last name.

2. the guide description should read: Staff Profile

3. Click the Add New Box link on the left side of the page.

4. Do the following for the left hand column:

  1. Add New Box
  2. Select Link to another box in the system
  3. Scroll Down and Select "Quick Start Guide for Students by Gale Burrow"
  4. Then Scroll Down and Select "Quick Links"
  5. Click Create Box

5. Suggested title for middle box: About Your name

6. Contents of the middle box can include

  • job title
  • job duties
  • snapshot bio (with education, interests, etc)
  • professional interests/activities/CV, etc.

7. The right hand box is your regular libguides profile box--don't forget a picture of yourself!

8. give your guide a "friendly url" that consists of profile/firstandlastname all one word. Use the first and last name that appear in the staff directory. For example: cindysnyder galeburrow  etc

9. make your guide PRIVATE (please do not publish)

10. your guide will now be linked to via the staff directory on the library website.
