Need Access to ArcGIS?
Need help installing ArcGIS? First, you'll need a PC (not Mac unless parallels or BootCAMP enabled) with admin privilages. Good? OK, here are steps
for you to follow. Before you start, contact email@example.com for an authorization code (one for each comnputer).
Need to instead access a lab? You have several locatoins on campus where you can access ArcGIS already installed:
First of all of course is the Honnold Mudd GIS Lab. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for access (the librarians at front desk will open door for you once you are listed on access list). You'll need to contact IT at each institution for more information and access:
Pitzer B213 lab. You'll need to contact Pitzer IT for hours on when lab is accessible.
CGU ACB building
Scipps College should have GIS installed on stations.
HMC has software installed for clinics.
Warren Roberts | GIS Support Specialist
Warren is has been teaching GIS to students for 20 years and has with degree in Landscape Architecture & Planning from the University of Oregon (MLA 98). Also a BSLA from Cal Poly Pomona ('90). He has over 20 years of professional and academic experience in both CAD, GIS and surveying (GPS) working on a variety of projects including storm water modeling, mapping Coastal Marinas and local watersheds and mapping contamination from Chernobyl with recommended land uses changes, and Campus GIS mapping. Current research and interests include remote sensing and field data collection methods and web mapping.
During the summer (2012 & 2014) he participated on exhibition to survey two of the largest caves in the world in Borneo sponsored by National Geographic using survey grade GPS, 3D scanner and drone aircraft for aerial imagery (http://www.gatewing.com)
Warren teaches Introduction and Intermediate GIS and GPS & articulated lessons for many subject areas. He currently has certificates in GIS teaching in Crime Analysis Mapping ( NIJ) & in Incident (Fire) Command Mapping ( GIST) and a California licensed Landscape Architect. He has worked with faculty throuhgout the 5C and support faculty in many subject areas, field work at the Bernard Field Station and in summer can be found supporting students and faculty at the Pitzer Firestone Field Station in Costa Rica.
